Bye Bye Yankee Stadium

There are plenty of thing that I want to do before my time is up in this world. Visiting Yankee Stadium has been crossed off my list. I never was a real baseball fan, but I do have an understanding about the history that place held. From Babe Ruth all the way to A-Rod, they made that place into pure americana. I would have wanted to watch at least one game where greatness dwelled. Hate the Yankees all you want, but there is no doubt about their accomplishments the past century. They may have sucked according to their standards this season, but they sure know how to close out a monument.

Ocho Psycho

Chad Johnson. One of the great receivers playing in the NFL today and a showman as well. He may never be Jerry Rice but he's fun to watch. He had been calling himself Ocho Cinco, the spanish interpretation of his trademark 85 he wears on his uniform. Recently, he made it legal. He's now known as Chad Ocho Cinco. As a nickname, I thought it kind of funny. But as a surname, it's just too bizarre to fathom that it's a real person now. Maybe I should change my name to Joseph Rico Suave.

Thank you fraud protection

I get a call this morning from my bank to call then immediately regarding my credit card. I usually have a good memory of what transactions I make so all of the sudden I start backtracking all of my activity. I confirm with one of the reps of my purchases until she mentions a $5,600 transaction to some website called collegesportsnetwork.com. I quickly confirmed with the rep that I didn't make that type of purchase. I look back years ago when I got that card that I actually was going to waive that protection. Sure it only costs a couple of dollars, but it beats having a bill I'll probably lose sleep over fighting. An old colleague once told me he's never done his finances via internet. I thought he was crazy with what technology we have now, but after what happened, I saw what he was getting at. I probably would cry if I saw what took me eight years to build destroyed.
